Part I: Family, Friends, and our Heavenly Father

Today was a busy day for me. It was filled with friends and family all drawing closer to our heavenly father; from baptisms to 1st communions. Both families opened up their homes to me so I can capture memories of this joyful day.

I started today with my dear friend Maritza and her family for her sons baptism. It meant the world to me for her to ask me to capture this day for her because I have been able to see him grow into the little cutie he has become. He is my sons best friend, so naturally, I dragged him along with me. He was so thrilled for his cousin/friend to take this next step in his spiritual journey and they both had so much fun. Luckily for us the priest has four boys of his own, so the littles being wild was nothing new to him. In spite boys being wild little boys it did not take way from the vents of the day. Instead I feel like it magnified the occasion and you could see the joy on Gaels families face. Even Gael enjoyed being baptized, unlike most children who cry, when being splashed with holy water; Gael smiled with pleasure as the water was being dropped upon his head. Even the aromas from the holy oils was pleasant for him. As the aromas filled the chapel with the scents of thieves, the family closed the event with pray, and the boys hugged goodbye, everyone left with smiles on their face. I am so thankful I was invited to join this very personal event to capture these moments for the Villafuerte family to have for a lifetime.

WARNING!!

My child is a bit of a camera whore; so, please excuse his photo bombing.

These photos are documentary style; which, essentially means, I go with the flow and not force anything. This style is best when photographing an event especially when young children are involved. I go into these photo sessions with an open mind and I take what i am given. With this style session you usually get a great number of photos but they usually are less artistic. You will receive colored prints; however, any images can be converted to black and white upon request.
